Trust is one of the best qualities of humans that makes us worthy in the eyes of others. Trust is an emotion that you can give to someone and take from someone. It makes your relationship strong and keep your love pure and healthy. It is a belief that someone is nice, honest and sincere and will not try to harm you. What are the values of trust? Value of trust:  Trust has a great value in everyone's life. It works as a power booster in life. It improves confidence level. It is important because around it, all relationship revolve. Faith, that you have in someone is known as trust and it is very essential to have faith in someone as it builds relationship strong. Trust works as the pillar in a relationship. As without pillar, a building can not be stand similarly without trust, a relationship will not work. It is a key

What is a letter?

* A letter is a medium to convey our message to others.

There are 2 types of letter:-

1- Formal Letter
2- Informal letter

*Formal letter- We write formal letter for our professional purpose.
Eg- if we are writing a letter to government, principal, teachers, any department or for the purpose of business then we write a formal letter.

*Informal letter- We write informal letter for our personal purpose.
Eg- If we write a letter to our parents, relatives, any family members or friends then we write informal letter.

Format of formal letter:-
These are the main key points in writing a formal letter:-

1- Sender's address- It tells about the address of sender who is writing or sending a letter.

2-Date- Mention the date when you are sending a letter.

3-Receiver's address- It takes the address of receiver who is receiving the letter.

4-Subject- Subject is a small introduction which tells about the aim of writing a letter.

5- Salutation- It takes Dear Sir/ Madam,

Note- If you don't know about the gender of the person to whom you are writing a letter then always mention "SIR".

6- Body Parts- It describes the whole letter.

Body part is divided into 3 parts:-

(I) Introduction- It gives introduction of a letter.It is also known as opening part.

(ii) Main part- It consists all the main points of writing a letter.

(iii) Conclusion- It summaries the body part. It is also known as closing part or complimentary close.

7- Subscription- It consists signature of sender with their name.

Question- Write a letter to principal to inform him about your academic progess.

Answer

Gorakhpur- 273013.

Date- 20th June, 2020.

The Principal,
Kendriya vidyalaya,
Fertilizer,
Gorakhpur.


Subject- An application to Principal to inform him about my academic progress.

Dear Sir,

I want to inform you that in my second semester examination, I have scored total 98%.
My parents are so happy with my performance in examination. I'm feeling gratitude towards you and all my beloved teachers who motivated me for scoring good marks in examination.
I promise you that I'll always try to give my best.

*Points to remember while writing a formal letter:-

1) After writing each point (sender's address, date, receiver's address, Subject, salutation and body part) give space of one line.
2) Before writing subscription, show your gratitude by writing "Thanking you".
3) In subscription (yours) must be in possessive pronoun.
4) In sender's address and receiver's address, when it's not completed put comma (,) and after competing it with pin code put full stop (.)
